Antivirus that waits for a virus definition update is yesterday's defence. Endpoint detection and response watches how every device behaves, and a dedicated security operations centre watches the alerts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It used to be our optional upgrade. We promoted it, because good security shouldn't be a paid extra.

Every server watched, patched and managed around the clock, with problems caught before they take the office down.

Servers hold the shared files, the line-of-business app, the thing the whole office quietly depends on. Around-the-clock monitoring, patching and management on every server catches trouble before it takes everyone down at once. Exact pricing is confirmed per server, because physical servers and virtual cloud servers are different animals.

Why won't we let you opt out?

Because we've seen how it ends. The client who "didn't need" mailbox backup deletes the wrong folder. The unmonitored laptop that's been quietly failing for months finally dies during end-of-financial-year. The server that skipped backup to save $150 a month costs fifty grand in downtime.

An MSP that lets you turn off the smoke alarms isn't flexible. It's negligent. So our flexibility lives where it should: in the menu, the month-to-month contract, and the add-ons you genuinely can take or leave. The floor, though, is the floor.

Can I opt out of the minimum standard to lower the price?

No, and that is deliberate. There is no toggle in the calculator and no discount for removing it, because backup, anti-phishing, monitoring and EDR are the difference between an incident and a disaster. Our flexibility lives in the month-to-month contract and the optional add-ons, never below the floor.

Is 24/7 EDR really necessary for a small business?

Yes. Attackers automate, so a 20-person Brisbane firm gets probed by the same tooling as an enterprise. EDR watches how every device behaves and a security operations centre reviews alerts around the clock, every day of the year. It used to be our optional upgrade; we made it standard.
